Our Story

Reclaim started with a simple question:
How do you create sustainable impact?

Founder Zerubabel Junior Kwebiiha was helping to feed homeless individuals in Kampala when he found out that many of them were waste pickers—trying to work hard to make a life for themselves but unable to do so due to unreliable buyers and often unfair pay. At the same time, a friend who owned a recycling plant was struggling with inconsistent supply and volatile pricing.

Junior saw the gap. Not just a business opportunity, but a chance to build something entirely new.

Drawing on two decades of operational experience building large-scale distribution networks across Africa—from MTN to Engie Energy Access to UNCDF—Junior knew how to create systems that work at scale. He understood that the informal waste sector wasn't broken because people weren't working hard enough. It was broken because no one had built the infrastructure it needed to thrive.

So he built it.

Today, Reclaim is creating Uganda's first formalised, transparent and just reverse supply chain for recyclable materials. We're not improving the old system—we're building a completely new one. One that creates opportunity for waste pickers, consistency for recyclers, and measurable impact for our planet.

Our Vision

We're building more than a waste collection company. We're engineering a new paradigm for how Africa manages its resources—one where waste becomes wealth, where marginalized workers become skilled entrepreneurs, and where environmental challenges become economic opportunities.

Creating a renewed life of opportunity for plastic, people, and our planet.

Our values

Think Big, Build Bigger

Every action must have a multiplier effect

We use the same energy to think big as to think small, so why think small?

Every solution we build must scale exponentially. One waste picker trained should train ten others. One collection hub designed should replicate across continents.

Come As You Are, Don't Stay Where You Are

We open doors, you choose to walk through them

We provide the platform, training, and opportunities—but transformation requires your own drive and ownership. Growth is a partnership between opportunity and agency. We create the pathway; you choose to walk it with intention and effort.

Excellence with Honour

No shortcuts, no excuses, no compromises

We do what we say we'll do, when we say we'll do it, the right way every time. Our commitment to quality isn't just business—it's our moral foundation. We take responsibility for mistakes, pay fair wages on time, and never compromise our standards for convenience.

Unique As One,
Greater As Many

We're family—bring your whole self

No life is less than. The waste picker deserves the same respect as the CEO because we're all in this journey together. Every person brings unique value that makes our team stronger. We work hard together, celebrate together, and support each other through challenges.

Recover and Rise

Be resourceful, resilient, and ready to thrive

We adapt to challenges without losing sight of our mission. When obstacles emerge, we find creative ways to do more with less. We're resourceful problem-solvers who turn constraints into innovation catalysts, bouncing back stronger from every setback.
